What is the sailing weather in Ionian?

What other amounts are payable, in addition to the cost of chartering the vessel (for the skipper and cleaning, etc)?

The charterer is responsible for paying fuel costs. With both engines operational, the vessel uses 1 lt per nautical mile (or 7 lt/hr with both engines operational). With an average load, the generator uses 2 lt of fuel an hour. The charterer must also pay the cost of the vessel mooring overnight in marinas if the charterer opts to anchor there.

Are pets allowed?

Even the fact we love pets , we believe for many reasons that it is difficult to have them on board.

How many people can the vessel accommodate?

In addition to the skipper who has his own accommodations, the vessel can host 8 adults in 4 comfortable double beds, without their own en suite facilities. Special add-ons allow each bed to accommodate one adult and two children, or two adults and a small child. We don’t recommend anyone sleeping in the saloon since it can’t be fully blacked out and the mattresses haven’t been designed for sleeping on. In all events, no more than 12 people are permitted for safety reasons (life rafts, vessel protocols, etc.).

 If the vessel is damaged, who bears liability?

Any damage to the vessel due to natural causes or erroneous manoeuvres, while at sea or anchored, are covered by the skipper. The charterer is only liable if he causes damage to the vessel’s equipment or furniture, etc.

However, if the charterer knows how to handle a boat and opts to captain the boat himself, the charterer is liable for any damage which occurs when he was in charge, up to € 3,500, irrespective of whether or not at that specific time he accepted the skipper’s help to avoid an accident.

What rules apply on board?

It’s a good idea not to wear the same footwear on board the vessel that one wears on land. The vessel’s outdoor areas are often wet with the result that footwear worn off the vessel can leave puddles, creating a risk of slipping.

Indoors, the vessel has an oak floor. While it may be very beautiful, it is also extremely sensitive. Indoors  you can wear shoes you have specially set aside for use on board the vessel. Any shoes used on land are prohibited. High heels are also prohibited.

While the vessel is at sea children and anyone who doesn’t know how to swim who plan to use the outdoor areas of the vessel (beyond the bounds of the outdoor saloon) must wear a life jacket.
